What am I up to?

I have finished my coursework for my Master’s Degree in International Education Management to help promote study abroad as an option for all students.  I attended the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS) in Monterey, CA, where I have come to learn the skills necessary to pursue a career in International Education.

My background

I am a French native with Spanish, Italian, Basque and French origins. Language acquisition has always been a priority, but also a given in my family. My grandfather was trilingual in Spanish, Arabic and French and my mother (his daughter) is trilingual in French, English and German.  I was lucky to study three foreign languages at school- English, Spanish and Italian. I also introduced myself to the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). Growing up with a father in the army, I got to live in a variety of places within France, such as Nice, Corsica and Tahiti. I am also a fan of international travel and strive to encounter other cultures when I travel abroad. As for personal projects, I hope to travel to Asia in the future, as I have not been there yet.

My mission

I wish to help international students navigate life in the US because I have been through that experience myself. I was an exchange student in the Fall of 2013 at Willamette University in Salem, OR. Because I had been to the US seven times before that experience, I was already knowledgable about the American university and the medical system. However, there were still challenges that I was not sure how to deal with, but learnt how to. This is why I feel great passion towards helping international students get to learn about and discover what this country has to offer, like I have. I firmly believe that study abroad changes lives!
