Foodie Galore

My life’s mantra when it comes to food is “feast with your eyes and taste with your soul.”

Back in the U.S., I’m a “Yelp Elite,” which means, I go out, eat, and write reviews of restaurants/places of interests….if I wasn’t going to be working “Corporate America,” I’d probably be a food critic. Also, I have a penchant for cooking w/o following recipes (mostly because I watch the food & travel Channel hours on end). I love getting fresh ingredients from farmers markets and just creating whatever comes to my mind…guess I got that side from my Dad, although, his specialty is fried oysters. If you haven’t tried that yet, you haven’t lived!

During my work in India, I’m going to make it a point to visit as much of the well known establishments and street vendors (I call it “stomach training.” ) After a week in India and no sign of food poisoning, I am good to go!

Times of India

In Ahmedabad, even though its a vegetarian, non-alcoholic state, they do have a foodie scene here, so that is something to look forward to (they have also meat choices, but I’m trying to hold out as long as I can! Although, once I cross over to the western river, they do have Muslim BBQ…brings me back to the times when Andrew Zimmerman highlighted his foodie adventures in Morocco!)

I’ll try to feature as many delicious curries and unique Indian items, ranging from desserts, snacks, drinks, and other fun little oddities!
