This week CCS and the CRA welcomed filmmaker and founder of The Line Campaign, Nancy Schwartzman, for a discussion on using storytelling and technology to combat gender-based violence. Nancy screened her documentary The Line, which tells the story of her personal experiences with gender-based violence, and led a discussion on strategies for using mobile technology to create safer communities for women and girls (you can find the documentary and more information on The Line Campaign here: http://whereisyourline.org). She also presented her app Circle of 6, which provides users with a simple platform to create their own circle of six friends to whom they can reach out via mobile phone in situations where they feel uncomfortable or as though they might be in danger.
