CCS and your career:
Working for a center that provides active practice and research at the same time has intrigued me about CCS. I found writing and using social media very powerful tools. Given the opportunity to write opinion papers for CCS’s block (Wandering Thoughts) not only gave me an outlet but also sharpened my understanding of events, injustices and conflicts all over the world.
Personal Highlights:
I consider myself very fortunate because I was able to make a dream come true: Just a few months ago I was offered to turn my internship with The Asia Foundation into a paid position. It is a first step onto a path that I have worked very hard for. I left Germany with a scholarship in my pocket to pursuit a second graduate degree at MIIS 2012, which in turn enabled me to intern in Cambodia in spring 2014. Most excitingly about the past five months with The Asia Foundation was that I was reminded of my studies of Conflict Resolution almost every day and that a lot of things made a lot more sense. The revelation that “you have to be there to understand it” was a very valuable lesson and motivation to move to Cambodia for my first job in development.
