Work Highlights:

CCS and your career:
CCS has given me practical and academic experience in the field of Conflict Resolution and Human Rights, a field that I would like to continue working in throughout my career. More importantly, though, my experience as an intern with CCS has allowed me to focus my passions and come to a better understanding of what my professional goals are and how to shape a career in this field. Through my work as an intern and through my classes as part of CCS’s Conflict Resolution Certificate Program, I have learned a great deal not just about critical global issues, but about myself as an individual who wants to work in this important field.

Personal Highlights:
The personal highlight of my experience with CCS, and as a student at the Monterey Institute, was the incredible research trip to Gujarat that I was able to participate in during J-Term 2013. This was an eye-opening experience that gave me the opportunity not just to better understand a new culture and a critical issue, but also how to effectively conduct research in the field. In addition to that, my presentation at the CCS conference on the topic of International LGBT Rights, an issue that I am extremely passionate about, was another major personal highlight, again both of my time as a CCS intern, but also of my whole graduate school experience. Having the opportunity to speak about an issue that I am passionate about and then be well received by a very informed audience was an unforgettable experience. Finally, the friendships and connections that I made throughout my time working with CCS and participating with CCS programs have also been a huge highlight. Leaving MIIS, the people that I feel the strongest connection with were all a part of the CCS program.
