Work Highlights:
At the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center I am working on developing a sustainable approach to programmatic funding by creating a donor database, applying for private foundation grants, holding fundraising and networking events, and tapping into the wealth of knowledge and expertise at MIIS.
CCS and your career:
The social media leadership project has informed the way I interact and use social media in my professional life with both the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center and another non-profit I work for that operates in Mali called Caravan to Class.  I am now very contentious about the narrative I choose to weave on social media accounts as it develops the public personality of these organizations. I also view the planning stages of the the social media leadership project as incredibly valuable and informative.  The flexibility and adaptability of the research team, in both the planning stages and the actual project, are attributes that I hope to replicate in all my future projects.
Personal Highlights:
I absolutely loved being immersed in Rwandan politics!  I would probably have never followed President Kagame or Louise Mushikiwabo so closely had I not been involved in the project.  I gained new insights and new perspectives from following both leaders everyday on their social media accounts for over six months.  It was a fascinating look at central African leaders and their politics.
