Work Highlights:

CCS and your career:
Working with the Center for Conflict Studies allowed me not only to expand on my interest in the conflict resolution field, but also get to experience the dynamics teamwork on a whole other level. In trying to understand the impact of our project, the team atmosphere helped me to focus on the potential impact and ultimately, the end result of the project. It was much easier and more effective to work out the details when running it by a group of like minded and dedicated individuals who all shared the same goal. This experience has reminded me on the importance of peer review and collaboration in the work place.
Personal Highlights:
Getting the experience to understand world events through the Twitter feed of one individual helped me to reevaluate my own assumptions. Tracking world coverage of Syria for example alongside the reaction of their regional neighbors allowed me to get a better overall understanding of the conflict and its dynamics. In addition, the need to read and subsequently translate the Arabic in the Twitter feed introduced me to many new concepts and relevant words that I will use in my future career path.
