Record Number of Employers Attend Career Fair for MIIS Students and Alumni
Employers flocked in unprecedented numbers to the annual Monterey Institute Career Fair on February 24 at the Monterey Conference Center. A record 109 employers participated in the Career Fair this year, representing large corporations such as Apple, eBay and HSBC as well as government agencies and local and international non-profit organizations.
“We’re delighted by the record turnout for this year’s career fair,” commented Institute President Sunder Ramaswamy. “The enthusiastic response we received from employers speaks volumes about the value they place on the kind of highly practical, cross-cultural professional skills that Monterey Institute graduates acquire.”
Students introduced themselves to employers at booths, learning about job opportunities, dropping off resumes, and setting up interviews. Workshop panels featured Institute alumni and invited guests talking about their professional experiences and offering tips on launching a career, networking, and advanced career strategies. “In addition to having several new international organizations and Institute alumni in attendance, it was tremendously gratifying to see students participate in 325 pre-scheduled interviews during the Fair,” says Tate Miller, dean of Advising and Career Services, whose team does a tremendous job all year long to help MIIS graduates launch their dream careers.
