Paz Viola Art

paz-viola-art-logoCompany / Owner Bio

I use my paintings to reflect a type of “inner landscape” – the images, surreal, abstract, deformed, free-flowing, are manifestations of myself and an extension of my spirit. With colors and shapes, my artwork is known to inspire feelings and imagination of the viewer, who can identify with my artwork, re-create it in his/her mind, and perhaps (and it has happened) be inspired to pick up the brush, take up the camera, dance to a song – in other words – let their creativity run free. I have been doing plastic art since 7, and I continue to use art to inspire people to transcend their daily life.

How does your company reflect its ethics?

Art is about consciousness – consciousness of our condition as humans, as participants of a particular culture with our own idiosyncrasies, as citizens of the earth with tremendous capacity to feel, to learn, and to grow, and to reinvent ourselves. This consciousness can also be applied to consumption which is a large part of the American life: for example, buying artwork can go towards supporting the local artist while shopping for something mass-produced and unfairly priced from a chain supermarket does not strengthen neither the local community nor contribute to people’s consciousness. With every work of art I create, I give a little piece of myself and hope to inspire the viewer with that authenticity and create a real connection.

What do you hope to share and/or learn at CSIL’s Holiday Pop Up Market?

I hope to share my art – I will bring a few pieces and I plan to do a live painting if the conditions allow. I would love to get to know the MIIS community and inspire more people to incorporate art into their lives.
