Welcome to the center of concentrated awesomeness—a campus hub for technology, innovation, and peer-to-peer teaching and learning.
Mission: The Digital Learning Commons empowers the Middlebury Institute of International Studies community to achieve academic excellence, professional development, and digital media fluency. We accomplish this by providing students, faculty, and staff with training opportunities, technological resources, and collaborative spaces to facilitate peer-driven teaching and learning.
Vision: To be a supportive environment where the Institute community comes to push the limits of their ingenuity. The Digital Learning Commons envisions a thriving professional learning community that engages in creative risk-taking to design and implement innovative solutions.
Location: The Commons is located at McGowan 001, which you can reach by entering McGowan on Pacific Street and heading to the right (around the back of McGowan 102). You can also enter at 420 Calle Principal. The Commons is light, airy, spacious, and includes a fully equipped work space on the upper level as well as an open teaching and learning area called the Design or “D” Sp@ce. Learn more about the D Sp@ce. If you’re interested in booking our Design Sp@ce, check the Room Reservation system. See the DLC Room Availability Calendar here.
We hope to see you soon at the Digital Learning Commons!
