Summary of Experience

To me, it was really a precious opportunity to go on this field trip to Tokyo and Beijing. The experience to enable myself absorb those first-hand information from experts specialized in different areas focused on East Asia, the opportunity to conduct interviews with government officials and academic researchers and able to ask my questions related to my research to them, the visit to Yakusuni Shrine, Meiji Shrine, Japanese parliament, the chance to introduce my city Beijing to everybody have made the trip the most meaningful and unforgettable to me. As a trade student, I have gained so much knowledge about security issues from this very informative trip. As a Chinese student, I also have gained new perspectives on the history and international relations of our country with others. I think the course and field trip work really well together to help me establish a framework and keep exploring, filling, refreshing different parts all the time. Regarding my research topic,

As a trade student, I have gained so much knowledge about security issues from this very informative trip. As a Chinese student, I also have gained new perspectives on the history and international relations of our country with others. I think the course and field trip work really well together to help me establish a framework and keep exploring, filling, refreshing different parts all the time. Regarding my research topic, Thaad deployment and Sino-South Korea relationship, I got the chance to conduct interviews with scholars focused on China and the Korean peninsula, which was very valuable for my research especially one scholar even mentioned one of my research question, economic interdependence, and political decision-making. I feel grateful I was a member of the program and had this unique experience with all my classmates and professors.
