After our careful Needs Analysis, we decided to create the first unit of what will be the Sixth Grade English Curriculum at St. Andre’s. After speaking with the school’s principal Pere Noe Bernier and after receiving news that we would be able to buy text books with money raised by St. Dunstan’s Church, we went to work on the curriculum.

We used the Haitiain Creole-English Oxford Picture Dictionary as the main resource in our curriculum, as we will be bringing 30 of them down to Hinche with us. We used the dictionary to introduce vocabulary and scaffold our lessons in a way that would be accessible to both teachers and students.
