Meet the Global English Club & Attend a Multi-Cultural Potluck!

Presenting the 2010 Global English Club!

At this semester’s Monterey Institute Club Fair, a group of Monterey Intensive English students presented a new club, The Global English Club. This marks the first time ever that students from the program created their own official club and presented it to the entire Monterey Institute community.

The goals of the Global English Club are to:

1. Start a club that will be enjoyable to share things or thoughts about our own culture with each other and improve our skills in English without homework.

2. This club is for students who want to have a good rest but at the same time increase abilities in a new language.

3. To meet new American people and learn more about their culture through fun activities.

Plans for Global English Club activities include BBQs, monthly birthday parties, beach sports, picnics, pot lucks, and more.

The Global English Club plans to meet every Friday at 5 p.m. in the ESL Building, across from the MIIS Library.

Coming up this week is the club’s first event, a Multicultural Potluck.

Here are the details:

When: Friday, March 5th
What time: 6pm – 9:30pm
Where: Casa Fuente 434
What to bring: Dish, dessert, snacks or beverages that represent your culture.

The activity is open to the community, so everyone is invited. Hope to see you there!
