Glass Bottom Boat Ride at Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey!

Thanks Luke for taking pictures and submitting this awesome recap:

Last Saturday, the IESL students went on the first planned activity of the Spring 2011 session: a glass bottom boat ride!  For many of the new students, it was their first chance to visit Fisherman’s Wharf.  There wasn’t much action happening beneath the water, but the small size of the boat allowed us to get up close and personal with the countless amounts of sea lions and otters that were above the surface.  We even got to handle some sea kelp, which apparently is great for the skin but gross to touch.  After we arrived back on land, we enjoyed some extremely fresh sea food from Abalonetti’s on the wharf for lunch.  It was a great introduction to the wharf and all it has to offer!
