Annual International Bazaar at MIIS

Last Saturday,  The Monterey Institute held it’s annual International Bazaar, a yearly celebration of the international diversity present on campus, and the IESL students were there both as spectators and participants.  The day kicked off with a performance by a Taiko Drumming group, and one of our students was brave enough to try her hand at it!  After that, it was all about the food.  The students had a sampling of everything, including kimchji, egg salad sandwiches, and a Taiwanese dish that no one knew the name off.  It was all delicious, but nothing was good as the Arab cuisine that was prepared and sold at the bazaar by our own ESL students!

After watching a couple of musical performances and mingling with the crowd for a good three hours, most of the students headed home.  It was a great chance for the ESL students to try new food and meet other MIIS students, and they made the most of it!
