Independence Day

(This post is very late…as it is exactly 15 days after Independence Day…oops)

What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than to have a BBQ Potluck Party?! With Patrick the BBQing Machine, and an abundance of meat and good company–we say that we celebrated our nations #1 holiday in style!

After four (yes FOUR) hours of EATING, we parted ways, slept off our food comas, and re-gathered to attend Monterey’s annual Laser Light Show and Concert (the Monterey Symphony played American tunes). Unfortunately, Monterey banned fireworks (we all cried), so the laser light show was the next best thing. It’s just too bad though that the Monterey Symphony didn’t have any musicians under the age of 65, and the “laser light show” was displayed against a single white sheet (yes, like the kind one puts on his bed) on a city league baseball field. Granted, it looked like a California King sized bed sheet, but still!

Fortunately, the company was still as good as it was during the BBQ–so despite the mediocrity of the event, we still shared laughs and had a great time!

Maybe next year we’ll seek fireworks and laser shows elsewhere…
