Reflections on Whalefest, Plus Billiards this Saturday!

This past Saturday, 1/24/2015, the MIIS ESL students were invited to attend Whalefest 2015, an event which happens once every year to celebrate whales in Monterey, which is a city known as the “Whale watching capital of the world.”

The event was very educational. Students learned of the effects of pollution and the importance of keeping the ocean clean. There were plenty of opportunities to take pictures, with things such as a big inflatable whale and people in fish costumes.

The students who attended decided to go on a discounted whale watching trip (normally $45 for each adult, today it was $40). They had a great time and enjoyed the scenery and wildlife for which Monterey is famous!

For those who love billiards (or those who would like to learn), don’t forget to come play this Saturday, 1/31/15! We will meet at Kinnoull house at 1:00pm, and walk to Easy Street Billiards in downtown Monterey. This billiards hall will be open until 2:00 am, so feel free to come whenever it is convenient for you!
