Organization and Time Management Part 5: Stick to your schedule and commitments.

By Chelsea Wicks & Kimberly England

Stick to your schedule and commitments.

Here is a short list to help you stick to your schedule and keep your promises.

Become a dependable, punctual student.

Someone who is dependable is someone that people can trust, this person will do what they say they will do. Americans think that dependability and punctuality are important traits that someone who deals with other people should hold. Punctuality, being on time, and dependability are especially important to student success because submitting assignment late and showing up to class late means a lower grade. Teachers usually list their late assignments policy in the course syllabus.

Practice good habits.

Time management and being organized is difficult to do. Keep trying to improve. Just like with learning a language, the more you try and the more you practice, the easier and more natural it becomes.

Try to be careful that the habits you are building and practicing are good ones. An easy way to improve is to talk to your teachers and asking for advice to improve. Teachers often have advice ready but need the student to ask for that advice directly.
