Site Visit to Cisco Information Systems, 2009

The Global Trade & Development program (GTD) is custom designed for upper-level undergraduate students, prospective graduate students, and beginning professionals interested in increasing their knowledge of global trade and development issues.

 

Over a four-week period, this program will expose participants to an integrated curriculum covering trade and trade policy, development strategies and practice, and their overlap and interactions with other crucial global issues, such as the environment.

Program content is delivered by policy and business faculty at the Monterey Institute and covers the economic underpinnings of global trade, laws and institutions related to this field, and the relationship between trade and international development issues ranging from the environment to labor standards.  Instructional modules include both lectures and “hands-on” learning from case studies, simulations, and group discussions.

Negotiation Simulation, 2009

The program involves intensive class and group work, with four days of field exposure to international trade experts working in agriculture and technology industries in Central California.  Participants will also receive one-on-one career strategy services from the Monterey Institute career advising team.
