About the film:
With no assistance from government or large NGOs, and only a few foreign donors, kids from Uganda and Nicaragua took significant steps to overcome boredom and poverty through skateboarding and the grassroots construction of the countries’ first skateparks.
Over a two year period, filmmaker Nik Strong-Cvetich traveled to document the stories of the construction of each of these countries first skateparks. This film explores the hopes and challenges of each of these communities. The film received a nomination for both the Santa Cruz Film Festival and Skateboard Film Festival.
