HSBC Application Deadline EXTENDED!

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TODAY, APRIL 16, 2010

HSBC is pleased to offer five $5,000 scholarships to Dual Degree MBA/MAIEP students in the final year of their program.  Preference is given to students that demonstrate integration of the two disciplines through study plans, internships, professional events and other activities.

The program is designed to increase awareness about internship & career opportunities with HSBC as well as provide financing for students who aspire to integrate the disciplines of business administration and international environmental policy. In addition, the programs strives to recognize achievement by students in Dual Degree programs.

Selection Ctriteria

Applicants must:

  • Be current degree candidates in the Dual Degree MBA/IEP program at the Monterey Institute
  • Have been officially admitted and taking classes in both programs. If your application is in progress, you may be considered. Awarding of funds would be dependent on formal approval of admission to second degree.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.5
  • Demonstrate the ability to clearly articulate future career aspirations as they relate to the concepts of green business
  • Dual Degree students in attendance any term of Academic Year 2010-2011 are eligible (Summer ’10, Fall ’10, Spring ’11)

Financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Planning will be considered in review of the applications. The Selection Committee reserves the right to request a letter of recommendation.

Application Process

Submit the following documents by Friday, April 16, 2010:

  • Application form (HSBC Scholarship App AY 2010-2011)
  • Current Resume
  • Unofficial Transcript
  • A letter to the Selection Committee demonstrating the integration of the two disciplines through study plans, internships, professional events, and other activities, and how they relate to your future plans.
  • Provide a 500 word essay answering the following questions:
  1. Why are you pursuing a dual degree?
  2. What do you imagine yourself doing in five years?

Apply by Friday, April 16, 2010 to HSBC Scholars Search Committee. Submit completed applications to Toni M. Thomas, Assistant Dean, GSIPM.
