2nd Annual Human Rights Conference, ‘Celebrating the Art of Human Rights Protection’ April 27-28

The Amnesty Club, STOP Club, the Monterey Bay United Nations Association Chapter, and the Peace Coalition are co-sponsoring the 2nd Annual Human Rights Conference, “Celebrating the Art of Human Rights Protection,” presented by the faculty and students of the Monterey Institute of International Studies. The event brings together practitioners, professors, and student activists to celebrate the efforts of rights advocates and to discuss the most pressing human rights issues confronting our world today.

Irvine Auditorium in the McCone Building of the Monterey Institute of International Studies

Topic: Frontiers in Human Rights and Wrongs: Crossing the Line

This event will continue on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., with panel discussions, speakers, workshops, and film screenings to address topics ranging from human tracking, treatment of U.S. prisoners, and war abuses. Saturday’s events will include screenings of “sex and money” and “KONY 2012”.
