Social Media Internship at Brazil-US based Social Enterprise
Escama Studio is a social enterprise based in California and Brazil. Their mission is to create innovative on-trend fashion accessories while promoting sustainable development through trade. Their flagship product is crocheted accessories with post-consumer (recycled) pop tabs.
The fashion products are handmade in Brazil by artisan groups who are not just contract manufacturers, but an integral part of Escama Studio. Escama Studio is a green company, a fair trade company and an ongoing experiment in sustainability.
Job Descritpion: Social Media Marketing Intern
Duration: 1 Semester (February – May, 2014)
The intern will assist with the execution of a data driven social media campaign that will quantifiably raise metrics of Escama Studio website. Other objectives will be to raise awareness of the Escama Studio company as a Brazil-US based social enterprise that creates fashion accessories and generate inbound links to our website and create broad-based mainstream media and social media attention in anticipation of the World Cup and Olympics – both of which will be hosted in Brazil.
Part time intern will assist in the following areas:
* Write original content and compile ‘curated content’ for use in blog and Facebook. Topics will range from social enterprise, eco fashion, sustainable design, Brazilian design.
* Help to identify ‘influencers’ bloggers, online editors. ‘Pitch’ online influencers with press releases and other content.
* Track traffic number of inbound links and other metrics to assess the success of campaign.
Unpaid to start, but paid work a potential in the future from performance-based bonuses and/or a future position.
Position offers:

– Working 10-20 hours per week, remote and flexible schedule. Prefer one monthly meeting in SF if possible.
