Author to Speak on Sexual Violence and War at MIIS on Wednesday, Oct. 13th

Lisa Shannon, author of “A Thousand Sisters: My Journey into the Worst Place in the World to be a Woman,” will speak about sexual violence against women during war at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 13th.
Shannon, founder of Run for Congo Women, will speak at Monterey Institute of International Studies’ Irvine Auditorium, 499 Pierce St. Admission is free and open to the public.
The program is sponsored by the Monterey Bay chapter of the United Nations Association. A book signing will follow.
