Alexandra Miller

Master of Arts in International Policy Studies – International Trade Policy, August 2011

IPSS Assignment: British American Business – London, UK (Spring/Summer 2011)

Alex is a native Californian, born and raised in San Luis Obispo. She attended UC Berkeley and earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Italian Studies, studying at the University of Padua, Italy for one year. Though she completed the required coursework to attend dental school, the year abroad shifted her focus to international relations. Immediately after graduating, she moved to Milan to work in the Politics and Economy section of the US Consulate before beginning her master’s program at MIIS.

She completed her IPSS assignment at British American Business (BAB) in London – a transatlantic chamber of commerce. At BAB she participated in the planning and execution of over forty events, wrote for publications and policy letters, and managed member relationships, all while researching and writing the IPSS Capstone (and getting engaged). Her future plans include returning to London to land a full-time job, living with her fiancé, Kai (currently on trial for principal bass of the Welsh National Opera), and getting a puppy, preferably a chocolate lab.
