Karim Kamel working for External Relations and International Cooperation Section at the CTBTO focuses on policy research, with specific emphasis on the Middle East. Karim’s main research focus is arms control in the Middle East. With the issue of creating a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone in the Middle East becoming at the forefront of nonproliferation discussions worldwide, Karim tries to contribute to efforts pursuing the establishment of the zone. While working at the CTBTO, Karim conducted several interviews with diplomats from the Middle East, he also attended several Seminars, and Conferences in Europe pursuing to grasp a deep insight of the arms control problem in the Middle East.
