Past, present, future

I am currently a student in MA in International Education Management (IEM) at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS). The purpose of this site is to show you a little more about myself and my work as an IEM student.

I am Croatian and lived in Zagreb, Croatia until 2008. when my husband and I moved to the United States due to Air Force duties.

In Croatia I studied languages (English, German, Spanish, and Latin), earned my degree in pre-school education, and taught English to pre-school age kids. I enjoyed the life in my home country and I’m very proud of its beauties and accomplishments.

Once in the United States I earned my Associate’s Degree from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, and then my Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).  Much like MIIS, UDC’s diverse student body expanded learning beyond the classroom and the intangible lessons I learned aided the application of my degree at Prospect Learning Center, an inner-district school for children with special needs.

Following my family’s time in Monterey, and my hopeful graduation from MIIS, we will most likely be moving to Russia.  While I never expected that this would be my path, I specifically broadened my skills so I could be qualified and prepared for any situation.  I also never expected that the International Education Management Program at MIIS would so perfectly fit my goals.  Wherever we move, I want to be in a position to guide the education of youths so they can exceed all expectations.
