CNS Pilots Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Program for Young Diplomats

Dr. William Potter and Ms. Gaukhar Mukhatzhanova were the organizers and lead instructors for a pilot Summer School on Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation held in Mexico City, July 7-11, 2014. The school, which attracted young diplomats from 20 countries in Latin America, was co-hosted by CNS and the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. CNS senior associate Dr. Nikolai Sokov also was among the many distinguished guest lecturers. Given the great success of the initial summer school, plans are already underway to convene a similar training program next summer.

Professor John Hedgcock Publishes Third Edition of Teaching L2 Composition

John Hedgcock and his longtime co-author Dana Ferris (Professor in the Writing Program at the University of California, Davis) completed the third edition of their book, Teaching L2 Composition: Purpose, Process, and Practice, which was officially released by Taylor and Francis/Routledge in 2014 after a soft launch in late 2013. Continue Reading →
