Keep Calm and Meditate this fall! Sessions will take place every Wednesday from 12:30 – 1pm in room CF 452. These drop-in sessions do not include any meditation instruction or teaching; they simply provide a regular time and peaceful place to meditate, or just sit in silence, under the quiet guidance of a host. MIIS Toastmasters!

Need to brush up on your interviewing skills? Find it difficult to speak your mind during class discussions? You're cordially invited to the next Toastmasters meeting to find out what it takes to express yourself clearly and confidently in a public setting. All are free to sit in on a meeting as a guest and experience the supportive, applause-happy environment that is Toastmasters, MIIS. We also have snacks! Tuesdays, 12:15-1:20pm in Morse A101

"Blood in the Fields: Ten Years Inside California's Nuestra Familia Gang" with Julia Reynolds

Julia Reynolds, CCS Visiting Scholar, served as a investigative crime reporter for the Monterey Herald. This book is the result of many years of research conducted by her on the Nuestra Familia Gang. Nomi Prins @ MIIS September 23rd!

“Our choice is simple: either we break the alliances or they will break us.” This is the parting thought Nomi Prins leaves us with in her latest book, All the Presidents’ Bankers, which explores 100 years of relationships between presidents and the Big Six bankers. On Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00pm, author Nomi Prins, herself a former managing director for Goldman Sachs, will be joining The WIP in Irvine Auditorium, to talk about these alliances and what they mean for the rest of us. “Own Your Pin” Project Tracks MIIS Internship Experiences Around the Globe

“Every spring students come in and ask when we are going to put out the map—they just can’t wait to add their pin to it,” says library assistant director Ann Flower of the map that students have been using for years to illustrate where their recent internships and immersive experiences have taken them. The map is somewhat unassuming, a little wrinkled and worn for all the love it has been shown throughout the years. Conflict Resolution Association

The Conflict Resolution Association is the MIIS Student Club dedicated to creating a healthy and vibrant atmosphere for the study, practice and implementation of conflict resolution on the Monterey Institute campus. MIIS Latin Dance Club

Put on your dancing shoes (which can be anything you are comfortable in) and come join a group of your peers in the exploration of different styles of Latin dancing.
