Augar is an MA TESOL candidate at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Before coming to the United States, he studied English language and literature at the University of Baghdad, Iraq. In 2011, He worked for a state official in Baghdad as an English-Arabic translator/interpreter for almost a year. In his first semester at MIIS, he worked for the institute’s Arabic program as a TA. His interests include traveling, photography, and of course teaching. Upon graduation, he plans on going back to his country, Iraq, to take an effective part in reforming and developing language teaching curricula.
