What is Industrial Hemp?

What is Industrial Hemp?

Industrial hemp is an ancient plant that has been cultivated across the world for thousands of years. One can grow a plot of hemp and use all parts of the plant in some form or another. By law, hemp contains less than 0.3% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and is non-intoxicating.

Hemp Seeds:

  • Superfoods: hemp hearts, hemp protein, cold-pressed hemp oil, flour, butter, beer, milk, granola and so much more!
  • Cosmetics: often used as an additive for lotions, shampoo, conditioner, soaps and more!
  • Industrial Oils: lubricants, paints, solvents, ethanol

Hemp Fiber:

  • Bast fiber: automotive components, plastics, textiles, insulation, bio-composites
  • Hurd: building materials, paper, animal bedding

Hemp Cannabinoids (from the flowers):

  • Cannabidiol (CBD) for therapeutic benefit
  • Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBC, CBG and more!

Originally I created this site while in graduate school as a way to showcase my Fulbright experience studying hemp in Canada. Now it has morphed into much more than that and the FULL SITE IS AVAILABLE HERE

It is an educational hub, a marketplace and a platform for my podcast Anslinger: The untold cannabis conspiracy (for release February 5th, 2018).

To learn more visit our learn tab and our blog at Think Hempy Thoughts (which is technically on a different site than this one)

I hope you enjoy!
