Hello again

Hello again! Sorry for the long absence but accessing the blog site is still really difficult from my end. A lot has happened in the past few weeks, the first draft of the teachers handbook for all future events at wetlands is now almost fully translated. The teacher training workshop I organized was also a huge success. I managed to bring in Kenton Parker the education coordinator at Elkhorn Slough to come and assist as well over skype which was a huge success, especially in terms of bring future collaboration between the wetlands program here in China and Eklhorn Slough. It was also interesting seeing how China and US has a lot in common in terms of environmental protection as all the environmental issues we discussed about in China were the same issues facing by Kenton Parker at Elkhorn Slough. Would love to write more but the internet connection is already beginning to fade. Hopefully I will be able to get another post in before I leave.

Finally!

Greetings from China, sorry for the delay in blogging due to internet access issues. I have been here for almost 4 weeks now and am busy working with the Jane Goodall institute. I just finished a short wetlands education event with middle and high school students at a wetlands park. The wetlands where originally destined to become a golf course, luckily conservationists and political brass recognized that this is something that should be preserved. Result is a huge 50km2 of wetlands to play around in for free!! Hope it is not as hot back in Monterey as it is here!
