Buongiorno! Bonjour! Buenas! Buna! Tchau!
” The limits of my language are the limits of my world.” – Philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein
I believe in expanding the limits of everyone’s world with the study of language in an interculturally competent manner. As an on-site intern for The Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy, I am currently helping study abroad students broaden their horizons.
I will complete my Master’s in International Education Management from The Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA, in May 2015 with a focus on intercultural competence and Romance languages.
Personal Background:
I have always been passionate about Romance languages and engaging, conscientious travel. I graduated from Wesleyan University (CT) in 2010 with a B.A. in French Studies, after studying abroad twice: a summer in Oaxaca, Mexico and a semester in Paris, France, followed by an independent summer working in Italy. I returned to France to teach English near Avignon through the Teaching Assistantship Program in France (TAPIF) in 2011-12. Since then, I have worked in customer service for an international tour operator, helped start a new family-run B&B business (The River Gem B&B, MD), and I find myself back in Europe, working and studying Italian.
