Here we offer some suggestions of things to read and watch that we think you might enjoy.

Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line by Deepa Anappara. Recommended by Jason Buchanan–It was difficult to read this book and not to think about in terms of the current pandemic. Although there is absolutely no direct link between the two, it offers a direct look at those in the developing world who do not have the privilege of social distancing. Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line is an absorbing book that recounts a crisis affecting a slum in India as told through the eyes of a young boy. Thoroughly entertaining, it is populated by memorable characters who are so infrequently featured in literature and the media.

Bicycling through COVID-19 by Pushpa Iyer. The Center for Conflict Studies will be starting a new blog series called “COVID Musings.” Speak about how you are navigating your way through this pandemic or discuss your concerns for our community or the world or give your opinion on a current event.
