About me

Born and raised in Mississippi, to a family of musicians, I initially felt that music was my calling. However, during my music studies as a violin student, my world view grew much larger than Mississippi. With my program having such an international cohort, I became curious about the world, began to study languages and study abroad, at first only for fun, but then I realized that I wanted to make this my career. What could be better?

I went on to complete a masters in Spanish Linguistics at the University of Florida, gaining experience as a linguistic researcher, presenting at local and international conferences, and even publishing my own research. However, for some reason, it still did not seem like the right fit. So, I did what any normal person does in times of confusion, I left the country.

After spending two years teaching English in Akita, Japan on the JET Programme, I finally found my calling: Translation and Localization. A field where I could apply all of my linguistic skills, contribute to the internationalization effort and work together with other like-minded individuals on fun and creative projects! Currently at masters student at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, I have developed my skills in translation (Spanish/French to English), desktop publishing, project management, internationalization, quality management, translation technology, programming, data security in localization, and much much more! Looking forward to working together with you to help you meet all of your international goals!
