About

east-africa-wim-van-den -heeverThe Graduate School of International Policy and Management (GSIPM) at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) is pleased to announce the the East Africa Forum 2014 to be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 between 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the McGowan Building (411 Pacific Street, Monterey, CA 93940) Room 100 followed by a reception at the DLC Design Space.

The theme of the first Forum will be Celebrating Change – Stories of Personal Transformation from East Africa, which will be explored in a story-telling style highlighting personal experiences of  fellow students, faculty and staff who have worked, studied, lived or volunteered at any of the fifteen nations and territories composing the East Africa region. We would like to make of the event an annual tradition in which we reflect on major take-away moments from previous sessions.

The event will be open to everyone, from those with significant experience in the region to those who are simply interested to learn more about the realities of this area of the world as portrayed by fellow members of the MIIS community. This event is free and open to the public.
