Translation Management Systems
This page is a record of projects and lessons learned from the Translation Management Systems course I took at MIIS. This course introduced me to translation management systems not only from the perspective of a project manager, but also from the perspectives of a translator, a client, and a general manager.
I first familiarized myself with using a TMS based on Plunet during my internship at Language Services, and this course allowed me to build on that experience by transfering my skills to learning SDL WorldServer. We also examined Lingotek, which I knew from the Social Localization and Translation Crowdsourcing course, and XTRF, which was covered in Localization Project Management.

Here is the semester project I completed:
- Translating and localizing pages from the graphic novel series Locke & Key from English into French, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, using SDL WorldServer to manage the project and assets. Details of this fun project can be seen here.
