The University of San Diego Trans-Border Institute is proud to co-host a day-long event focused on how collaboration between the US, Mexico and Canada can drive job creation and increase competitiveness in the 21st century.  The US Department of Commerce, the Mexico Business Center at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and San Diego Dialogue at UCSD will partner with the Institute in providing this event.

Keynote Speakers: Gary Locke, United States Secretary of Commerce Gerardo Ruíz Mateos, Mexican Secretary of Economy Tony Clement, Canadian Minister of Industry

Panel discussions will focus on how to promote the links that advance innovation and competitiveness and how to remove the obstacles that impede future growth.  Participants will hear about the transition to a low-carbon economy, innovative examples of green workforce development, international financing, integrated supply chain improvements, and enhanced border infrastructure projects that facilitate efficiency and increase trade opportunities.  This is a rare opportunity to learn from high-ranking economic officials about the changing face of the economy.
