Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Jan Black

Professor Jan Knippers Black, specialist in the field of human rights, recently celebrated the upcoming (July) release of the fifth edition of her book, Latin America, Its Problems and Its Promise.  In addition, Dr. Black’s book, The Politics of Human Rights Protection, (Rowman & Littlefield) came out in paperback this spring. Finally, her article on women’s rights, “Between the Glass Ceiling and the Sticky Floor,” appears in the spring edition of Human Rights Global Focus.

After spending January in Chile for her onsite course in collaboration with Judge Juan Guzman, Professor Black traveled to Mexico City and to Washington, D.C. this spring on assignments for the Inter-American Foundation.
