Yahoo is currently featuring a news story about Facebook and personal security issues.  Considering how many students utilize Facebook here at MIIS, please keep in mind the following recommendations contained within the article:

• Use a strong password
• Do NOT post your full birthdate in your profile
• Be mindful of private information you post to your profile (i.e. phone number, address, etc.)
• Don’t post your child’s name in photos or captions
• Don’t publicly post notice that you will be out of town.  As the article states, this is the equivalent of putting a sign at home saying “Nobody home”
• Don’t allow young children to use Facebook unsupervised
