Wanted: Outdoor Orientation Guides

The Outdoor Rec Club (ORC) and Student Service is offering a new orientation program in Fall, 2010 called “FOOT” (First-semester Outdoor Orientation Trip).  FOOT is a camping trip for incoming students to get to know each other in a non-academic setting.

The ORC is currently recruiting current MIIS students to lead these trips.  Orientation guides will have the costs of their trip covered! Trip information, a link to an online application form and more relevant details can be found below…

Trip #1
Dates: Aug 20-21, 2010
Location: Arroyo Seco
Guides Needed: 4
Incoming Student Participants: 15

Trip #2
Dates: Sept 4-5, 2010
Location: Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park
Guides Needed: 4
Incoming Student Participants: 15

Benefits:

• All expense paid for trip for yourself
• Includes: A Guide Workshop, All Camping Food, Transportation, Campsite Fees, Entrance Fees, A FOOT T-shirt, and more.

Necessary Qualifications

• You must be a current MIIS student
• Some camping experience
• First Aid/CPR/WFA/WFR are highly recommended, but not required

Your Obligation:

You must…..

• Attend a guide training Aug 18th or 19th, 2010
• Co-lead an Outdoor Rec Club Trip in the Fall of your choosing.
