Did you know that GSIPM professor Beryl Levinger is Director of Research for Save the Children’s State of the World’s Mothers Report?  Did you know that MIIS students have assisted Dr. Levinger in preparing this report for the last 10 years?

Save the Children’s State of the World’s Mothers Report is an extensive study that “identifies which countries are succeeding – and countries that are failing – to improve the lives of the poorest mothers and children.”  The entire research team for this project is drawn from MIIS or participants in the Development Project Management Institute (DPMI).  Nikki Gillette, a MIIS BA/MPA/MBA alum, co-directed this year’s research team, which included:  Jennifer Hayes (DPMI),  Melissa Booth (IPS – Conflict Resolution), and Sara Ferree (IPS – Development).

This year’s report has gotten incredible press coverage with mention in virtually every major media outlet, including the New York Times.
