Former Ansel Adams photographic assistant, John Sexton, will lead a discussion on Adams’ work, and share some of his research into the recent ‘lost glass plate negatives’ at Irvine Auditorium, here on the MIIS campus.

The presentation is in conjunction with the current Adams exhibit “Ansel Adams: Portrait of America” on display through Oct. 3 at the Monterey Museum of Art.

Sexton’s presentation will include a look at negatives from some of Adams’ images and the evolution from the negative to the finished print, with commentary through some of the creative steps that lead from the straight print to what became Adams’ well-known work.

John Sexton was Ansel Adams’ photographic assistant from 1979 to 1982 and worked closely with the famed photographer on all of his photographic projects during that time

The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 22.
Admission is $10 general, $5 for museum members. For information, call 372-5477.
