Where: Irvine Auditorium

Who: Anyone from the MIIS and Monterey community with an interest in human rights

Award-winning author Canyon Sam will present a slide show and read from her book, Sky Train: Tibetan Women on the Edge of History.  Her association with Tibet goes back 24 years from when she spent a year in Tibet and Dharamsala when Tibet first opened.  She helped found the Tibetan Nuns Project and spoke before Congress for their Tiananmen Square hearings to link human rights in Tibet to that event.  After publishing fiction, nonfiction, opinion, and drama,  Sky Train is her first book.
