Prof. Nuket Kardam will present on Grassroots Leadership on Thursday, November 18 from 12:15-1:45pm in MG 102 as part of the Graduate School of International Policy and Management’s Dean’s Seminar Series.

Title: Grassroots Leadership in Action

In collaboration with Professor Nüket Kardam, students from the Spring 2010 Seminar “Grassroots Leadership Development” will present their on-going research on what drives and defines the leaders who guide grassroots movements. This seminar culminated in a Å’Grassroots Leadership Symposium¹ in April 2010 organized by seminar participants. The presentation will focus primarily on ³5 Principles of Grassroots Leadership,” drawing from the Symposium as well as the Å’action research¹ undertaken by the students who worked with several exciting and successful grassroots organizations. This presentation will demonstrate how these five principles are manifested in the leadership style of several grassroots organizations, including the challenges these leaders face, and potential strategies for their future success.
