Internship Opportunity- Now Accepting Applications

The Advocacy Project (AP – www.advocacynet.org) is looking for a recent graduate to manage a challenging project with Roma women in the spring of 2011 in Europe (exact location TBA). The project will be conducted in partnership with the Council of Europe. It will work with a community of marginalized Roma women – most likely recent migrants to France – to make a quilt, for display at the headquarters of the Council in Strasbourg. The goal is to project a positive image of Roma culture at a time when Roma are being vilified.

The selected individual will join AP’s acclaimed Peace Fellowship program. He or she will be recruited by end January, trained in February, and deployed to the field for three months (March 1- May 31). Applicants should have experience of working abroad, a commitment to human rights, and be familiar will IT (websites) and social networking. French may be required. The post will carry a stipend of $5,000 plus expenses.

Send a cover letter and resume to Karin Orr: korr@advocacynet.org, and cc Iain Guest: iain@advocacynet.org.
