Changes to Workshop 8564 American Trade Policy Formation

This workshop will be focused on how U.S. trade policy is made and shaped. Lecturers will all be experience practitioners. Amb. Wolff chaired the Interagency Trade Policy Review Group and has served on the President’s and State Departments Advisory Councils. Guest lecturers will include a recent U.S. senior negotiator for agriculture, Intel Corporation’s Vice President for International Government Affairs, and the recent U.S. Trade Representative’s General Council and former National Economic Council senior staff person to discuss the trade policy aspects of climate change negotiations. The great new negotiation for a Transpacific Partnership (TPP) will also be addressed. A simulation will allow workshop participants to address and solve the problems that the major country participants are and will be wrestling with. The workshop will begin with fundamentals on March 12 and conclude on April 1 and 2. Brief presentations are required, oral and written. There are no reading materials that are not available on the web.
