International Nuclear Safeguards Policy One-Week Intensive Course and Paid Summer Internships

The Monterey Institute of International Studies in cooperation with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and in support of the U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration’s Next Generation Safeguards Initiative, is please to announce a one-week intensive course on nonproliferation and nuclear safeguards policy in Monterey, CA and up to six paid internships at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA.

The International Nuclear Safeguards Policy and Information Analysis Course will be held in Monterey from May 23-27, 2011. The course is free for selected participants.  A small number of $500-$1000 stipends will be available to students outside of the Monterey area to offset transportation and housing costs.  Applicants are eligible to compete for a two-month internship from May 31 to August 5, 2011.  Interns will receive a monthly $3000 stipend.
