Congressman Sam Farr and Salinas mayor, Dennis Donohue, will speak this evening in Carmel on the topic of “All Things Local and National,” with a  focus on the impact of Team Monterey. This event is intended to foster mixing and collaboration between students and faculty from the Naval Postgraduate School, the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and the Defense Language Institute. Attendees are asked to kindly bring a dish or beverage to share.

The event will be held at 5:30pm this evening at 222 Highlands Drive, Carmel.

Directions:

From the North:

From SF:

Take 101 south to 156 W to Rte. 1 S to Carmel.

From Rio Road and Rt. 1; continue south for less than 5 minutes after the Rio Road intersection in Carmel.  Pass Point Lobos and the gas station. Go left at Highlands Drive (at the Highlands Inn sign). Highlands Drive winds up the hill (stay right) past the Highlands Inn and the Tickle Pink Inn and goes through a little narrow lane. When Highlands Drive opens wider and the view is on your right, 222 Highlands Drive is on the left. The house looks like a big log cabin. Keep going past the mailbox .We have a gated driveway with stone pillars, the last one on the left on Highlands as it intersects with Cypress Way. Gate will be open.

From the south:

A few miles south of Carmel you will see signs for the Highlands Inn.  Go right into Highlands Drive, which looks like the Highlands Inn Driveway but is actually a road.  Follow the directions above.

From River Ranch:

Turn left out of the River Ranch driveway onto Carmel Valley Road.  Go to the last light before the end of the road, Carmel Rancho Blvd. (9 miles) and turn left.  Go to the end and turn right onto Rio Road.  Go to the third light and turn left at Route 1.  Go South 5 minutes, past the gas station and turn left at Highlands Drive.  Go up Highlands, always choosing right if you have a question, and pass the Highlands Inn and the Tickle Pink Inn (named after Senator Tickle, if you can believe that).  Keep going up Highlands Drive.  We are the last driveway on the left on Highlands Drive at the intersection of Highlands Drive and Cypress Way.  There is an open gate.

Carpooling is appreciated. 831-704 -6395.
