MIIS is developing a new MA degree program focused on international education management. It will provide students with the knowledge and skills to develop and lead programs to foster intercultural understanding and exchange. Graduates will run study abroad programs, provide student services in ESL and intensive language programs, work in university international student offices, develop training programs for international professionals, and work for government agencies such as Fulbright and Education USA (and the inter-national equivalents). Professor Punteney is leading the wide-reaching effort for developing the new curriculum, to make this exciting new initiative a reality. In this seminar she will present the draft curriculum proposal and seek inputs from faculty, students, and staff.

The Dean’s Seminar Series showcases the work of the GSIPM faculty that defines academic excellence at the Monterey Institute, highlights distinct competences of the GSIPM programs, and provides valuable perspectives and skills to our learning community. The series places an emphasis on the introduction of faculty members and their works that have a significant potential to be leveraged across the family of programs at GSIPM.
